alliantgroup Celebrates International Yoga Day

On June 21 , alliantgroup will join the millions of people from around the world and over 190 countries as they come together to celebrate the ancient mind body practice of yoga on International Yoga Day!

As an integral part of alliantgroup’s focus on its professionals health and well-being, weekly yoga classes are offered, and enable staff to downshift, alleviating stress and anxiety. Originating some 5,000 years ago, yoga is practiced worldwide by millions of people who experience the benefits to body, mind, and spirit. Routine practice increases muscular strength and endurance, boosts the immune system, improves mental focus and clarity, and increases flexibility while reducing back, neck, and joint pain.

A native Houstonian, Melanie has always had a passion for health and wellness. After spending the first part of her career in corporate education for LVMH (Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy), Melanie went back to school to study health and wellness to ultimately obtain her Masters in Exercise Science Health Promotion with a specialty in Wellness Psychology. Melanie loves helping people live their best lives through healthy living and successfully integrating work, family, fun, movement and nutrition. Melanie’s research in workplace wellness led her to develop innovative programming for employer wellness groups at Humana. While there, she wrote large group and special population programming to help Humana’s members find their healthiest ways of living tailored to their specific lifestyle needs. Additionally, she was a national educator for Lifetime Fitness working on programming for Group Fitness, specifically yoga and barre. Melanie has been in the wellness industry for over 10 years and along with wellness programming, she is also a yoga instructor, barre instructor, and meditation teacher.
