On February 6, The Greater Houston Women’s Chamber of Commerce (GHWCC) had their Annual Meeting, Awards Luncheon & Board Induction at the Westin Galleria.
During the event, the GHWCC thanked their dedicated volunteers, leaders and supporters and had an awards ceremony for organizations and individuals that support the chamber. Some of the awards included: Education Excellence, Distinguished Legislator, Business of the Year, Entrepreneur of the Year and STEAM Advocate of the Year, which was the award alliantgroup received!
Our CEO, Dhaval Jadav and our Corporate Citizenship Director, Casey Curry went onstage to receive the award. alliantgroup was honored with the STEAM Advocate of the Year for their dedication and commitment to the STEAM Town USA program with the Woodson School. Since October, alliantgroup has been going to the Woodson School once a month to teach an after‐school program that seeks to increase exposure of third grade girls to Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM) concepts, improve grades and graduation rates, and encourage girls to pursue STEAM careers.
Four of the Woodson girls that are part of the program, attended at the event and performed a nice dance routine to a women empowerment song from Sesame Street!
To top off this special day, Mayor Sylvester Turner presented our CEO with a “Proclamation” from the City of Houston declaring a “Dhaval Jadav Day” for his work to promote access to STEM education, especially for most underserved students, in our amazing city!
alliantgroup looks forward to continuing this partnership with the GHWCC for years to come.
