We are proud to announce that alliantgroup won the 2020 RYDECorporate Challenge again! As part of the celebration, RYDE hosted our second annual RYDE for a Reason event on March 7, at their studio downtown. This is another STRONG IN MIND, STRONG IN BODY community event, where our team spent time growing stronger together while making a difference in the lives of those around us.
It is estimated that a quarter of all Houston area children are considered food insecure. With so many young underprivileged kids in our community lacking access to free school meal programs, our alliantgroup Wellness and Corporate Citizenship Teams joined forces again to bring health and happiness to our community by supporting Kids’ Meals in order to provide meals for Houston’s hungriest preschoolers.
About 80 alliantgroup volunteers, lead the by our Wellness and Corporate Citizenship team got together to burn calories by participating in two 30-minute in-door RYDE cycling classes. After each ride, our team graciously decorated and packed close to 1,000 sacked lunches for Kids’ Meals! These non-perishable lunch bags included a 100% juice box, fruit snacks, pretzels and peanut butter.
Kids’ Meals mission is to end childhood hunger by providing resources to impoverished families struggling to feed their children. They also physically prepare and deliver free, healthy meals, to these families’ preschool aged children, year round. The charity has been operating for 12 years and provides hundreds of thousands of meals every year. Kids’ Meals also ensures that for every dollar you donate, 90 cents goes directly to feeding hungry children.
Providing these meals requires the kindness of a lot of volunteers and alliantgroup and its employees were happy to do their part! alliantgroup’s mission is to strengthen American businesses by helping companies keep jobs in American. A major part of that mission means supporting American students in all parts of their educational journey.
