STEM Scholarship Spotlight: Audrey Cooper

The moment when Audrey’s passion for STEM was ignited, was when she took AP Psychology in high school. She became deeply intrigued and fascinated with the subject. This was very exciting to her because she had never had such a feeling before for any class. From that moment, she knew that she wanted to pursue a career in psychology.

Audrey is aware that mental health is a serious issue around the world, that is why her goal is to major in psychology with a concentration on pre-medical studies at The University of Alabama. After receiving her undergraduate degree, she hopes to attend medical school so that one day she can become a psychiatrist and will be able to help so many people that suffer from this serious disease.

Fun Fact: Audrey loves to dance! She was in her high school’s dance team all four years!

Knowing that she can make a difference and help others while using her passion for psychology affirms Audrey’s desire to pursue a career in that direction. She cannot wait to be able to make difference in the world by helping others through her knowledge.

Audrey encourages younger generations to pursue a career in STEM because the opportunities are endless! She believes that you can most definitely find a field you have a passion for and make a career out of it and on top of that, you will be able to make advances in technology and care for the wellbeing of others.
