The alliantgroup Black Collaborative supports Twelve Days of Christmas, Inc.

The alliantgroup Black Collaborative’s (aBC) objective is to promote Black Excellence through engaging the youth at all ages in the community, employing talented professionals, and expanding the search for talent to include recruiting from more Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).

One of the special non-profits that the aBC has chosen to support is Twelve Days of Christmas, Inc.! Twelve Days of Christmas is a national volunteer service organization founded in 1999 by a mother-daughter duo to share the spirit of the holidays with less fortunate families. Beyond the holiday season, the organization also serves the community year round to provide school supplies for students, implement reading programs, and other interesting programs to support the community in need.

The aBC will be supporting two of the Twelve Days of Christmas initiatives this year! One of the initiatives is their R.E.A.D Program, which stands for Read to Empower Achieve and Discover. This program targets minority, at-risk, low-income households with children ages 3 to 8 and seeks to generate excitement and a desire to read at an early age. So far, the aBC has already participated in two R.E.A.D events. The first one was on November 14, 2020, where members of the aBC partnered with members of Twelve Days of Christmas, Inc. to bag over 600 books donated by the Barbara Bush Foundation! These fantastic book bags are going to be delivered to young children at underserved elementary schools.

Then on November 20, 2020, members of the aBC joined the Twelve Days of Christmas at Bastian Elementary School to participate in a short program and present some of the books that were bagged at the previous event. These books were given to Bastian ES students ranging from kindergarten to third grade just in time for the Thanksgiving holiday!

The aBC is also excited to support the Twelve Days of Christmas’s Holiday Family Adoption program. Every year, families in need apply to this program and this year, the aBC will be adopting a lovely family of seven!

On November 21, 2020, the aBC kicked off the holiday season with their family! On this day, the aBC presented a grocery store gift card to the family so they could get all the ingredients and food needed to prepare and enjoy a beautiful Thanksgiving dinner.

Next on the agenda, the aBC members will start shopping for holiday gifts for their adopted family of seven in December, so they can deliver the gifts right in time for Christmas!

The aBC is excited to keep sharing more updates about their partnership with Twelve Days of Christmas soon!
