alliantgroup, HISD Elementary Science Teacher Award Winner Deidre Ricketts Featured on CW39 ‘Morning Dose of Science’ Segment

The alliantgroup, HISD Elementary Science Teacher Award winner from Stevens Elementary, Deidre Ricketts, was featured on CW39’s Morning Dose for a short summer science lab segment on July 10!

During the science segment, Ms. Ricketts created fun, easy and cost-efficient science experiments for families to try at home to avoid the “summer slide.” Ms. Ricketts and the Moring Dose hosts Sharron Melton and Shannon LaNier had a blast together doing density float and sink experiments with both fruits and soda cans live that morning. Soon after, they did a Facebook Live segment where Ms. Ricketts demonstrated how to make groovy lava lamps with canola oil, water, food coloring and effervescent tablets.

Always remember Ms. Ricketts’s famous phrase, “the world is our science lab”, because science is everywhere—and every day you can learn something new.

Make sure to watch Morning Dose every weekday morning on CW39 from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m.
